The LOOK Magazine Show AW11

I have been excited about this day since I was asked during my internship if I wanted to work backstage at The LOOK Show AW11, obviously, my answer was yes!

This year was their first year at Westfield Stratford which opened earlier this week. The shopping centres size and atmosphere is crazy. Every shop whether it be high end or low end had a sophisticated feel, but even at 9am  there was already a lot of people about. I spent the majority of my day backstage away from the hustle and bustle of the shopping crowd but surrounded by the chaos of a fashion show. I was assigned my own model, Ellen, to dress for the show. I was nervous about the responsibility of getting her out in time as we had a couple of quick changes but loved the excitement at the same time. I wish I had taken pictures of her looks but there was simply no time and I had to keep my phone off. It was great seeing everything come together and being part of the show. The experience was great and I am very thankful to LOOK for it.

A couple of photos taken before and after the show:

Rosie, Lousie and I with our passes, it was great to see the girls again!

Being around all those shops I couldn't help but at these pop into Topshop and pick up a pair of shoes I have been after for a while but couldn't find anywhere locally. The journey was like an obstacle course, there was absolutely no breathing space, which wasn't helped by people suddenly stopping in front of you and being ran over by pushchairs, scooters and toy cars. Eventually I reached Topshop where I picked up the black studded slippers after which I made a quick exit from the madness. I must say Topshop itself wasn't crowded at all but Westfield Stratford itself was filled to the brim!

Wishlist Addition

I have had my eye on these asymmetrical heels ever since I saw them in the LOOK fashion cupboard during my internship. I love bright shoes (even more if they have a bright insole) and these from Office are just that. They come in black as well as pink and green so even though I am looking for black shoes, I don't think I could buy black over the coloured version. I'm just drawn to colour too much! So, the question is, pink or green?
The colour appears darker in the pictures, they are actually brighter in real life.

Edward Monkton

On a recent shopping trip with my friend I rediscovered Edward Monkton. I had brought her the book that justifies buying shoes, The Shoe of Salvation, back when we were at school. He has done a lot more since then and I love how simple the designs are. He uses simple illustrations but adds a story for each illustration. If you look on his website you see that some stories have deep, inspirational meanings. Some of my favourites are Ninja Biscuits, The Pig of Happiness and Love Monkey. As well as prints they are available as cups (pictured,) confectionery, books and more.

Wishlist Addition

I have recently discovered these beautiful Deena & Ozzy suede sandels available at Urban Outfitters. As of yet, I have only seen them on the internet but I can't wait to get back to uni so I can see the in real life and try them on! I love that they have a chunky heel, platform and instep. I am looking for an alternative to my heeled shoe boots so I like that these are a little more feminine but the chunkiness keeps them from being over dressy which I'm not.

Also available in pink.

Financial Dilemma?

On another one of my internet shops I found these from Miss Selfridge

The similarities, they are the same style with the t-bar and cross over straps, chunky platform, heel and instep. The difference, they have coloured jewels on them which I'm not sure about, a closed heel and £30 cheaper. Again my little town doesn't have a Miss Selfridge so I have to wait until I'm back at uni or go to the city to see them.

Daily Play

J. Cole - Work Out
"Straight up now tell me do you really wanna love me forever..."

I have a few daily plays but this has been one for the longest. I have been trying to wean myself off this song recently because my obsession is possibly getting out of hand but I can't help it. It a song I can sing along to so I just keep singing it as I go about my day. I've posted the video on my twitter and tumblr so I thought why not here as well, as I still listen to it just as much. Tickets for his UK tour are out now.
